Al-Ahly’s legal advisor: We were financially damaged by the Zamalek bannerThank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!
Mohamed Othman, Al-Ahly’s legal advisor, confirmed that the Economic Court will consider tomorrow, Wednesday, the lawsuit filed against the Zamalek Board of Directors because of hanging a banner on his club’s wall bearing the title “The Real Century Club.”
This title is owned exclusively by Al-Ahly, and it has been documented by all relevant authorities locally and globally within its trademark.
He added that what Zamalek had done represented a clear infringement on part of the components of the Al-Ahly club’s brand; With the aim of promoting and generating a return, which violates all the regulations and laws regulating in this regard.
Othman added that Al-Ahly demanded in his lawsuit financial compensation for the damage he sustained as a result of the violating behavior of the Zamalek club and its officials.
Al-Ahly’s lawyer indicated that there are those who think that tomorrow’s call is to determine who is the “Century Club”, which is of course not true at all, and the lawsuit did not address it in the first place; Because the Century Club is Al-Ahly Club, which has been completely settled for more than twenty years.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) awarded Al-Ahly the title of the Horn of Africa Club on May 22, 2001, in a major celebration held in Johannesburg, the capital of South Africa.
