A person familiar with the film had previously said New York Times that Baldwin will still star in the film, and Joel Souza, who was injured in the shooting, will return as director.

Baldwin has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing and claimed he was told the gun was “cold.”

VOICES: What the allegations against Alec Baldwin mean – and what’s next

“The issue here, as authorities put it, is about responsibility, not intent,” Clemence Michalon writes about The Independent.

“Manslaughter usually is defined in New Mexico statutes or as “murder committed in the commission of an unlawful act not constituting a crime” or “in the commission of a lawful act likely to cause death in an unlawful manner or without due care and caution”.

The former Good morning UK host appeared to welcome the charges brought against Alec Baldwin on Thursday.

Alec Baldwin to ‘fight’ manslaughter charges as lawyer blasts ‘miscarriage’

Prosecutors announced Thursday that Alec Baldwin will face two counts of involuntary manslaughter in the on-set death of Halina Hutchins Rust.

In a statement to The Independentlawyer Luke Nikas said: “This decision distorts the tragic death of Halina Hutchins and represents a terrible miscarriage of justice.
