Al-Amiri Farouq, Vice President of Al-Ahly Club, and Saad Shalaby, Acting Executive Director of the club, met with Walid Al-Attar, Executive Director of the Football Association, regarding the clubs’ debts to the Egyptian Federation.

And the Football Association announced in an official statement the decision of the board of directors of the federation not to allow the registration of all clubs except after payment of their debts to the Egyptian Football Association.

A source from the football association revealed to FilGoal.comAl-Ahly canceled its debts to the Football Association.

He explained: “This comes after a session that brought together Al-Amri Farouk, the club’s vice-president, and Saad Shalabi, with Walid Al-Attar, the executive director of the Football Association.”

And he continued: “Al-Ahly’s debts were ¬£8m and it was agreed to schedule their payment.”

“Al-Ahly has the right to register players without problems after complying with the Football Association’s decision,” the source concluded.

Al-Ahly are preparing to strengthen their ranks in the month of January, ahead of the Club World Cup competitions.

Al-Ahly is participating for the eighth time in its history and third in a row at the Club World Cup, which is to be held in Morocco from February 1 to 11.

Al-Ahly will open their matches against Auckland City, New Zealand, on February 1 in the first round.

The draw ceremony for the Club World Cup is scheduled to take place on January 13 in the Moroccan city of Rabat.

Al-Ahly suffered from the injury of both teams, Akram Tawfiq and Karim Fouad, severing the cruciate ligament.

Al-Ahly’s name has been linked with the inclusion of Khaled Abdel-Fattah, the back of Ayman Smouha, following statements by Farag Amer, president of the Alexandria club.

Al-Ahly are top of the table after 11 rounds, with just 27 points, three points ahead of their nearest rival Zamalek.

Al-Ahly will play at five o’clock in the evening, Thursday, against Enpi at the Arab Contractors Stadium in the twelfth round of the competition.

Al-Ahly defeated the Pyramids team in their last match with three free goals, which took place at the Cairo Stadium.
