Mahmoud Fathallah, the general coach of Pyramids, stressed that his team must respond strongly to the start of the current season.
Fathallah said on Ontime Sports 2: “We started the season poorly, and our goals and players’ ambitions confirm that the team will have a strong reaction.”
“We have learned from the previous matches and this is still just the beginning, and we will appear even stronger in the coming period.”
He continued, “The return match against the Niger champion will be a new start for us, after we lost the first leg.”
He continued, “Coordination with the Egyptian national team has been ongoing since the first day of Vitoria, and he was keen to check on the players’ condition.”
He pointed out, “Ahmed El-Shennawy is going well and is able to join the national team at any time, and he finished last season at a distinguished level.”
He concluded his statements, “Ibrahim Adel suffered an injury with the Olympic team with a strain in the front muscle, and he has a few days left to return to training.”
Pyramids lost 1-0 to Niger’s champion, Nigel, in the first leg of the 32nd supplementary round of the African Confederation Cup, which was held in Niamey, the capital of Niger.
Pyramids will play the return match next Wednesday at Cairo Stadium.
