Hazem Emam, a member of the Egyptian Football Association, explained why Yasser Ibrahim did not join the Egyptian national team list.
The Egyptian national team announced the inclusion of Yasser Ibrahim to replace Mahmoud Metwally, who was injured, but the defender could not join the team, to be replaced by Khaled Sobhi, defender of Al Ittihad of Alexandria.
Hazem Imam said on Radio On Sport: “The Egyptian team requested the inclusion of Yasser Ibrahim after Mahmoud Metwally was injured.”
And he continued, “Yasser did not apologize, what happened is that Sayed Abdel Hafeez, the director of football in Al-Ahly, agreed and told us that the player is training in the last 2-3 days with a high load.”
And he continued, “Abdul Hafeez contacted Mohamed Ghoraba, the national team manager, and told him that the player finished his training with Al-Ahly a while ago, and explained to them the player’s training and that he was feeling tired, and in turn conveyed the strangeness of the image to Roy Vitoria, the coach of the team, that the player will not participate in training on the same day because of the different loads between The club and the national team.
And he continued, “In the end, Khaled Sobhi, the Alexandrian player, joined in his place.”
“The player is tired because he is training differently with his team because he did not take into account that he would join the national team.”
A source from the Egyptian national team toldFilGoal.com Yesterday, Tuesday: “The technical staff agreed to include Yasser Ibrahim after Metwally’s injury.”
He added, “Al-Ahly was informed at ten in the morning, at the time of training, that the player had been summoned.”
And he continued, “Al-Ahly responded with approval after that, after informing the player, then after a few hours, Sayed Abdel Hafeez called the national team to inform us of the club’s and the player’s apology because of his feeling of fatigue with the excessive training load.”
And he concluded, “We trusted Al-Ahly’s talk and did not summon the player to undergo a medical examination, and on that basis we decided to include Khaled Sobhi.”
The last participation of the 29-year-old Yasser Ibrahim with the Egyptian national team was in the friendly match against South Korea on June 14, which ended with the latter’s victory by four goals to one.
