New Liverpool striker Cody Jacobo has made it clear he will try to learn from Mohamed Salah during their time together in the team.

On Wednesday, Liverpool officially announced the signing of Dutchman Cody Jacobo from Eindhoven, who will become a player in the squad at the start of the winter transfer window next Sunday.

“It will be great. Salah is a great player and I’m looking forward to learning from him,” Jacobo said of playing with Mo Salah.

He added in statements to his club’s website: “I will follow him closely to see what he does so that I can improve my level so that we can win a lot of games together.”

Liverpool did not announce the length or value of the contract, but press reports said they would sign a contract that runs until 2028, and that the deal cost the English club’s coffers 37 million pounds sterling, with incentives amounting to 50 million pounds sterling.

The Dutchman will wear the number 18 shirt at Liverpool.

The 23-year-old Jakpo participated with the Dutch national team at the World Cup, presented excellent levels and scored 3 goals.

In the first half of the current season, Cody played 34 games for his team and country, during which he scored 18 goals and provided 18 assists.

With the inclusion of Jakob, Liverpool have continued to make deals during the Christmas holidays and present them as a gift to their fans in recent years, following the signings of Virgil Van Dijk, Diogo Hota and Luis Diaz.

While Salah continues his brilliance with Liverpool in his sixth season since joining from Roma in the summer of 2017.

In the 276 games he played for Liverpool, Salah scored 172 goals and provided 69 assists.

He won seven titles with the team, the 2019 European Champions League, the European Super Cup and the Club World Cup in the same year, then the Premier League in the 2019-2020 season, the Professional League Cup, the FA Cup and the Charity Shield in 2022.
