After Al-Ahly’s match against Al-Masri, which ended in a 0-0 draw in the league, Mortada Mansour, president of Zamalek club, spoke about several issues, most notably the case of Mahmoud Abdel Moneim Kahraba.
Mortada Mansour said in his statements to Zamalek TV: “Al-Ahly (empty) as we all see. I say to Mohamed Abul-Anein (President of Ceramica Cleopatra), it’s good that you got rid of Shadi Hussein. The place of the fans in the stands , not at the stadium.”
He added: “Sayed Abdel Hafeez (Al-Ahly football director) was right to want to hit the referee because the referee should not blow the whistle until Al-Ahly scores a goal, even if the match lasts 3 years.”
“They say the players are plotting against coach Josevaldo Ferreira, and that’s not true,” he said.
He continued: “All that has to be done is that each player has to play in his place. I’m a lawyer and I won’t be good at electrical repairs. If you’re a striker, don’t put me on as a winger and if you’re a 6, don’t make me play an 8. There’s no one who doesn’t understand football now in Egypt.”
Regarding the reaction after the crisis of Abdullah Jumaa and Ahmed Fatouh and their accusation of drug abuse, Mansour said: “The players took doping samples and will be sent to Barcelona. None of us will be suspended for two years. They did the analysis 3 times and the sample came back negative.
Regarding the case of the fine owed to the Zamalek club against Mahmoud Abdel Moneim Kahraba, an Al-Ahly player, Mansour said: “You said that the contract was forged but it was valid and you said that FIFA would rule against Zamalek, so judge in our favor.
He explained: “We have a session on February 2 and I say to Kahraba: I advise you, for God’s sake, if this time you are punished for 3 periods (year and a half), the suspension will not even be lifted if you pay a billion dollars.”
He revealed: “I am willing to pay the fine in installments provided you bring your father, mother and sister and make a 3-minute video saying who instigated you to do it. In 5 minutes I will pay you the fine in convenient installments.”
He ended this question by saying, “No one will favor you and even if you pay, you will be stopped. They told you that you will play the Al-Masri match. Did you play? Have you been shortlisted? What will you say to the Sports Court when it asks you about your lack of respect for its decision?”
On the future of Ahmed Fattuh, the team’s full-back, and Mahmoud Shabana, a defender on loan at Smuha, Mansour said: “Fatuh is ready to face Pyramids in the cup. I will leave Mahmoud Shabana to Smuha so he can to play him in the cup match.”
As for the meeting with Sudan’s Mars in the African Champions League, he said: “We will face Mars in Libya and I would like him to come and play here in Cairo and if the management wants him, there is still the possibility of a full residence.’
