Leaks of new Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra storage sizes resurrect 128GB and three different leakers at oddsThank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!
Update on January 9th: Ahmed Qwaider clarifies his previous leak in a new post. It includes a 12GB RAM version of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra in its list along with 512GB storage variants of the Galaxy S23 and S23+. The tipster also states that there will be several countries that will get the 128GB variant of the S23. Fellow leaker Ice universe seems to have agreed with Qwaider’s update.
The latest Samsung Galaxy S23 RAM and storage leak came thanks to SnoopyTech, which has built a decent reputation for offering accurate technology-related information. The leaker uses the codenames ‘DM1’, ‘DM2’ and ‘DM3’ for the devices, with ‘Project Diamond’ being the internal codename for the Samsung Galaxy S23 series. According to the tipster, the Galaxy S23 series will be available in the following configurations:
- DM1 – Samsung Galaxy S23: 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB
- DM2 – Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus: 8 GB + 256 GB, 8 GB + 512 GB
- DM3 – Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra: 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB and possibly 12GB + 1TB model available on the Samsung Store
While the use of the codenames could offer an additional hint of the leak’s credibility, the source avoided using terms like “confirmed” or “official.” But that didn’t stop Ahmed Quaider, who previously posted a leak related to the memory + memory configuration along with the “official” qualifier. Qwaider claimed that there won’t be 128GB of storage anywhere to be seen, and while neither the Galaxy S23+ nor the Galaxy S23 Ultra stuck with 128GB in the leak above, it’s clear that the Galaxy S23 is.
To confuse things a bit more, another leak, TheGalox_, threw another wrench into the works by stating that both the regular Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ will be treated to up to 512GB of storage. The three tipsters just can’t seem to agree on what Samsung has planned with the base model in the upcoming Galaxy S23 series:
- SnoopyTech – 128GB option but no 512GB option (S23)
- Qwaider – no 128GB option and no specifically mentioned 512GB option (S23/S23+)
- TheGalox – option up to 512 GB (S23/S23+)
The latest leak from SnoopyTech is certainly believable as it would allow Samsung startup the Galaxy S23 series with an ‘affordable’ SKU in the range. Meanwhile, the 128GB option has been eliminated from the Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra model choice, while the former gets a better higher option than the 512GB variant, thus also demonstrating how Samsung has upgraded the 2023 flagship smartphones from the previous year’s offering.
