The 27-year-old influencer appeared on the latest episode of Amanda Hirsch’sNot skinny but not fat either podcast where she talks about prescribing diabetes medicine “before it was fashionable.”
“I’m almost annoyed that it’s a trendy thing now that I’ve used it for actual problems,” Bader, who has 2.2 million followers on TikTok, Hirsch said.
The plus size the model explained that her doctor recommended she try Ozempic, shortly after it was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration in 2020, for her pre-diabetes condition, insulin resistance and weight profit problems.
whatever Victoria’s Secret Ambassador said she had mixed feelings about Ozempic because after she stopped taking the once-weekly injection, her binge eating worsened.
“I saw a doctor and they said, ‘It’s 100 percent because you took Ozempic,’ because it made me think I wasn’t hungry,” she explained. “I’ve lost a little weight. I didn’t want to obsess about taking it long-term, and I was like, ‘I bet the minute I get out, I’m going to starve again,’ and I did.”
“My binge eating got a lot worse, so I kind of blamed it on the Ozempic,” Bader added. “Then I put back on double the weight.”
Ozempic is an antidiabetic drug used to treat type 2 diabetes, although some of its side effects include weight loss. Ozempic – which is the brand name for semaglutide – works by mimicking a hormone that regulates appetite to create a feeling of satiety.
Ozempic has been trending on social media lately as many celebrities are rumored to be using the diabetes drug as a quick fix for weight loss. Due to its popularity as an “off-label” diet pill, increased demand has caused a global shortage of Ozempic, leaving people with diabetes who actually need the drug without it.
On TikTok, Remy Bader has gained a large following from his candid plus-size fashion shows. The New York native recently went viral when she revealed that a Long Island ranch wouldn’t let her ride one of their horses because of her weight.
IN video posted to his TikTok account last June, Bader shared footage from the ranch with text above it that read, “Congratulations to Deep Hollow Ranch in Montauk for making me leave because I weigh over 240.”
“I’ve ridden horses before and never had this problem,” she wrote in the caption. “Please advertise this on your signs for the future.”
She highlighted in the comments how the ranch failed to “advertise” its weight limit and how “uncomfortable” her experience there was.
“I really don’t need opinions on this,” she wrote. “The fact is how it was not advertised and how badly it was handled. That was my experience, not yours. It was very embarrassing to be told I had to leave alone when everyone else had to stay hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
The TikTok star went viral again when she Delta Air Lines called out due to the lack of seating for large passengers. In a video that Bader posted on TikTok in early 2022, the model is seen holding one side of the seat belt but struggling to buckle the other side of the seat belt into the seat.
“Delta. Get it!” Bader captioned the clip, adding in the caption, “And no, I don’t have to ask for an extension. It just has to be easy! @delta.”
