Liverpool took a strong step in the last summer transfer window by agreeing to leave star Sadio Mane for Bayern Munich, after a six-year career at Anfield.
Liverpool, led by its German coach Jurgen Klopp, decided to strengthen the attacking side by including the Uruguayan youth Darwin Nunez from the Portuguese Benfica, in a huge financial deal for the English club.
The Merseyside giant and unusual decided to open its coffers to include Nunez in a deal worth 80 million euros, making it the second most expensive deal in the history of the “Reds” after the inclusion of Virgil van Dijk from Southampton in January 2018 for 84 million euros.
Nunez, at the beginning of his move to Liverpool, was subjected to many pressures, starting with his weak attacking effect or wasting easy opportunities, in addition to his expulsion in the Crystal Palace match and being suspended for three games as a result of his misconduct and attacking Danish defender Joachim Andersen.
“Yalla Koura” contacted the coach of the second team of the former Benfica club, who is currently working in the Stade Reims team in the French league, Joao Fonseca, through the “wasserman” agency, to talk to him about his opinion of the Darwin Nunez duo alongside the Egyptian professional Mostafa Mohamed, the Nantes striker.
Joao spoke about his opinion of Nunez, saying: “Darwin is a great player, he moves positively in attack, Nunez just wants to take advantage of the spaces to score.”
On his opinion of Nowens being under pressure in Liverpool, he explained: “He just needs to adapt, because he is a Latin player and plays in a difficult tournament. Moving from Portugal to England is not easy, and adapting to the league and living in England is not easy.”
He added: “At the moment, I know that Nunez is under pressure, because everyone expects him to shine from the first day, as I said, moving to England is not an easy step, and Liverpool wants to win titles, whether in England or Europe.”
Nunez has begun to know the path of opponents’ goal in the recent period, as the Uruguayan striker scored in the “Reds” shirt seven goals and assisted in 15 games during the current season (2022-2023).
Another player talked about by the Portuguese coach, who previously worked in the Qatar youth team and Manchester City, is Mustafa Mohamed, who is loaned from the Turkish Galatasaray to the French club Nantes.
Joao revealed his opinion on the Egyptian international: “Mustafa Mohamed is participating in a tournament that is concerned with laying the foundations for the player. Mustafa will be among the most important European tournaments in the future.”
And he concluded: “I expect him to succeed in France. Mostafa Mohamed’s qualities fit the requirements of the French League.”
The 24-year-old moved to Nantes on loan during the last summer transfers, as the French club has the right to buy the Egyptian international.
Mostafa Mohamed participated with Nantes in 19 matches, whether local or continental, to score five goals and assist two goals.
