The Golden Gate Bridge has reopened after being completely closed Saturday night following an accident in which a large platform overturned, according to
tip from AlertSF.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene around 6:12 p.m. to respond to the overturned truck and traffic was backed up to San Francisco and as far north as Sausalito on Highway 101. The truck overturned during a high wind advisory on the bridge. The bridge was fully open by 8:35 p.m

It was a fairly quiet evening for the bridge. About an hour and a half before the rollover, lightning struck a bridge tower around 4:42 p.m.
according to the National Weather Service.

The bridge shutdown came on a day of numerous highway and road closures due to rain, flooding and crashes on slick roads.
