  • Adviser to the President Volodymyr Zelensky said that caution and slow decision-making on whether sending Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine costs lives. Mykhailo Podoliak tweeted on Saturday, his frustration with “global indecision” over arms supplies to Ukraine: “Today’s indecision is killing more than our people. Every day delay is the death of Ukrainians. Think faster.

  • Baltic states tell Germany to send tanks ‘now’ in Ukraine after perceived by the government in Berlin. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, Edgars Rinkevičs tweeted they are “necessary to stop Russian aggression.” The same tweet was posted by his colleagues in Estonia and Lithuania.

  • Joe Biden told reporters after an event on Friday night that “Ukraine will get all the help it needs,” in response to a question about the tanks.

  • German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said that despite heightened expectations, “we still cannot say when a decision will be made, and what will be the solution when it comes to Leopard tank”. Germany has said it is taking stock of its current number of tanks ahead of a possible decision.

  • Some 50 nations agreed on Friday to provide Kyiv with billions of dollars worth of military equipmentincluding armored vehicles and ammunition needed to repel Russian forces.

  • Crying Vladimir Zelensky attended the memorial service on Saturday to honor seven slain senior Interior Ministry officials in a helicopter crash on Wednesday, Reuters reported. Interior Minister Denis Monastirsky, his deputy and five others were killed when their helicopter crashed in fog in a nursery on the eastern outskirts of Kyiv. Including those on the ground, a total of 14 people were killed.

  • Agence France-Presse reported that the Russian army has launched an offensive in the Zaporozhye region in South-Eastern Ukraine. Russian forces claimed to have taken “more advantageous lines and positions” during the attack.

  • A 17-year-old boy was injured by Russian shelling from Sumy region, Ukraine.

  • Russian attacks on Friday killed one person in Kharkiv, three people in Donetsk and one person in Zaporozhye. Four people were also injured in Kherson, according to Zelensky’s office.

  • The war in Ukraine is at an impasse, according to the UK Ministry of Defence. An intelligence update says there is a possibility of Russian advances around the heavily contested town of Bakhmut in the Donbass region, but otherwise little movement.

  • Near Kremina in the northeast, Ukrainian forces achieved little success and defend against Russian counterattacks.
